History
Saint Francis Catholic School was established September 12, 1949 with the arrival of seven School Sisters of Notre Dame. Fr. Cyril Lanheim, OFM, Cap. was the Administrator and S. Mary Eucharita was the Principal to a school population of 301 students. Over the years, there have been many changes, with the student population booming to as high as 1,100 students in 1958, to several relocations of the school due to Typhoon destruction; however, in God's time and through the hard work and dedication, St. Francis Catholic School remains a solid fixture at its present site behind the parish church in Yona.
SFCS maintains full accreditation by the Western Catholic Educational Association and is co-accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
